What is Positive Behavior
Interventions & Supports (PBIS) at PS 246?
New to this year we are linking Class DOJO to PBIS!
Ask your Child's teacher how you can sign up for updates and see how your child is doing each week!
PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), a positive learning environment framework, is our school wide approach to supporting all of our students social
and behavioral attributes. It is our process for creating a nurturing and positive school environment.
PBIS is a framework for enhancing the capacity of our school to educate all children by developing research- based, school wide, and
classroom behavior expectations and citizenship. The process focuses on improving our school’s ability to
teach and support positive behavior for all students. With PBIS, instructional time is more effectively used for teaching and we will all become responsive to the changing
needs of our school community.
We want every adult to recognize many students for demonstrating exemplary social behaviors as often as possible and we will celebrate our students successes on an
ongoing basis.

What Happens When Your
Child Follows the Three Bees?
When students follow the Three Bee’s, the instructional educational plan can be implemented at its best. Teachers are able to teach in an environment conducive to teaching and students are able to learn in an environment that is comfortable and safe.
Students can also earn rewards! See what your child can earn for following the Three Bee’s:
ü Tickets: Students can earn Tickets towards weekly prizes
ü Monthly Celebrations: Classes with the most Pom Poms each month will select a reward.
ü Star Students: Students that consistently follow the Three Bee’s can become Star Students, have their pictures in the main hallway, and earn prizes!
ü Activities: We are in the process of planning activities for our Bee’s!
Encourage your child to always follow the Three Bee’s and remain on the path of positive behavior!
